Activity report 2022 : between threats to freedom and democratic resistance, VoxPublic in action !

13 mars 2023 dans dans Nos actus

In its 2022 activity report, VoxPublic looks back on its work alongside its partners during a year marked internationally by the war in Ukraine, the displacement of people seeking asylum and hope, and nationally by the French elections and a renewal of the National Assembly where the far right made its entry in numbers...

EDITO from the VoxPublic Board of Directors

« The year 2022 was marked by the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The war has upset the international agenda, and all the consequences of this aggression are still unpredictable. VoxPublic has decided to contribute to the solidarity movement that has emerged throughout Europe by leading, with the CRID and the European Citizens’ Assembly, the Ukraine Solidarity Collective.

In France, it was an election year with the presidential and legislative elections. These elections were an opportunity for VoxPublic to support dozens of associations which, by using our resources (directories of the entourages of presidential and legislative candidates) were able to make themselves heard by the candidates.

The responsiveness of VoxPublic and the reliability of its resources were appreciated !

Then, the arrival in force of the National Rally in the National Assembly led us to draw a red line by publicly announcing that we would not seek to convince a group RN diametrically opposed to our principles on subjects such as freedoms, the reception of exiled people or social and environmental justice.

2022 was also the first year of application of the "separatism law" and its lamentable Republican Commitment Contract, a new scarecrow of the executive power to inhibit associative action. With the Coalition for Associative Liberties, or in direct support of associations attacked by the State or local authorities, VoxPublic sounds the alarm, both in France and with European partners such as the European Civic Forum, on this retreat of associative liberties and on the shrinking of the democratic space of French civil society.

In spite of this, many associations and groups of people concerned by discrimination or inequalities, continue with courage their actions to move the lines and find in VoxPublic a trusted ally to carry with them their claims until victory. »

The Board of Directors : co-presidents Issa Coulibaly, Fabrice Ferrier, Léa Gauthier, Jean-Baptiste Paulhet, Loan Torondel, Marcela Villalobos Cid ; treasurer, Patrick Teil.
